2. Listen to this Humanise The Numbers podcast with Andrew Botham, investor and advisor, as he discusses KPIs and why he thinks you (and your clients) should track just 3 numbers.
Three numbers, financial or non-financial: track them, keep tracking them, week in, week out, month in, month out. Andrew believes that doing this will have a profound effect on your firm or, if you help your clients do this, it will have a profound positive impact on their businesses.
He shares a story of a machine repair business that tracked 2 simple numbers in their business and how this positively benefited them.
Andrew also believes that you should not track easy numbers. Instead, pick numbers that are going to make a difference. Very often, these are the difficult numbers – but when you track them and keep tracking them they will help drive your firm forward.

For him, time is the key. When you go into a client meeting with the time and the patience to really listen to what your client is saying to you, you are free to be truly present in the moment and have a proper conversation about their issues, concerns, goals and aspirations, allowing you to work through any issues they may have.
